Repentigny
About 22,000 houses. The by-law lists laying out a parking area under certificates without specifying plain repaving: one call settles it if you change the driveway’s shape. To widen, the curb-cut request is made online, and the City bills $255 up to 1 m, then $53 per metre. A driveway entirely in pavers or stamped concrete can reach 9 m; in asphalt, 7 m.
Mascouche
About 12,000 houses. Redoing the driveway needs a certificate only in PIIA sectors. To widen, the City’s contractor cuts the curb in about 15 working days, at $56.74 per metre (minimum $299.84), plus $50 for inspection. The width depends on your lot: 6 m with 18 m of frontage or less, 9 m above.
L’Assomption
About 6,000 houses, and the most regulated of the three: a certificate before laying out or modifying a parking space, and gravel is banned inside the urban perimeter. Going from gravel to asphalt therefore takes a certificate. The curb cut costs at least $420, or actual cost plus 15%.
